New UFO book is out there
Is the truth out there? Well, according to a new book, UFOs and the Extraterrestrial Message it is, and it has been waiting for you to find it. In fact it has been waiting for at least half a century.
Written by Richard Lawrence, this is a very entertaining and thought-provoking book. It contains accounts of UFOs from ancient and modern times and - unusually - it has a section on the man who was Richard's inspiration, George King.

Colour Energy Healing - video
Here is a short-ish video on colour therapy featuring Vivien Gibson and details of her work.
It was made by a TV company who came to her as a prominent person in her field, and interviewed her and carried footage of the technique. It's well worth a look, since her method of treatment is quite rare.

Meditation 'can make you more intelligent'
New research suggests that meditation could make you more intelligent by boosting the size of your brain.
People who have been meditiating for a long time have "significantly larger" quantities of brain tissue than those who have not, according to information released by the University of California, Los Angeles. Gains were noted particularly in areas of the brain linked to emotion, leading the chief researcher to speculate that this might give meditators the ability to have "well-adjusted responses to whatever life throws their way".

UFOs over London
The Daily Telegraph reports a startling UFO photograph taken over the capital skyline by 40 year old Derek Burdon. Debate has, of course, already started about what the four mysterious lights appearing to hover over London actually were. A laser light show has already been mentioned, but no explanation of why it should be in operation in the morning.

Turn Shroud "could be genuine"
Radio carbon dating in 1988 appeared to remove all doubt: the Turin Shroud, which seemed to have somehow acquired a stunning image of a bearded man, was not the cloth used in the burial of Jesus, it was a medieval fake.
End of, as we might say now.
However, it looks as though the Turin Shroud is coming back to haunt sceptics. It now appears that the tests were done on an area of the shroud that had been repaired in the 16th century and its fabric dyed in the process. No surprise then about the scientific dating.
Ray Rogers, of the Shroud of Turin research project, a dyed-in-the-wool sceptic by inclination, and a chemist from the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, set out to vigorously expose this claim as false when it first appeared. In the process he changed his mind and eventually concluded, shortly before his death three years ago, “I am coming to the conclusion that it has a very good chance of being the piece of cloth used to bury the historic Jesus.”
He also observed, “The worst possible sample for carbon dating was taken.” Considering the intense worldwide interest that surrounded these tests – indeed one might almost describe it as a media circus - that is, in itself a staggering statement. It really does stretch the bounds of credulity to think that a stupid mistake like this could have been made. Had no one noticed that that part of the Shroud had been repaired?
Unless, of course, you believe in man’s almost infinite power to screw important things up. We should never underestimate that.
It's all coming to The Discovery Channel on a TV near you shortly - at least if you live in the UK. The programme aired in the US at the end of last year and was apparently recalled by the production company after transmission to correct some errors, according to shroud.com. That's a minor miracle in its own right.

Did we make the earthquake that killed 88,000?
Contrary to appearances we have a hand in creating natural conditions - the weather, earthquakes, natural disasters and so on. It's an aspect of the great Law of Karma which says that you sow what you reap. You could write a very lengthy treatise on this aspect of occultism and still only scratch the surface.
Manipulating hamanity's karma for the worse, and therefore creating bad conditions for us, is our attitude towards the Earth. Our planet is not just a chunk of lifeless rock hurtling through space, but a great living Being of great evolution. We disregard, disrespect of harm Her at our peril.
Much of the time the connection between action and reaction is indeed hidden (or 'occult'). Just occasionally the connection surfaces. Here is a story which indicates that the devasting Szechuan earthquake of 2008, which measured 7.9 on the Richter Scale, was actually directly caused by the construction of a huge dam just a few miles from the epicentre in an area not known for quakes.
It looks as though a bad planning decision, which ignored what was best for the Earth, may have resulted in the deaths of 88,000 people.
The Day the Earth Stood Still
Richard Quezada was at Cal Tech with mike and cameraman on December 5th, when the Director of the classic film The Day the Earth Stood Still, Scott Derrickson, and its famous star Keanu Reeves came for a screening of the movie.
It's a remake of the 1951 classic in which an extraterrestrial lands and tells the people of Earth that they must live peacefully or be destroyed as a danger to other planets. The 2008 film is said to remain true to original. Watch here as Richard gets to interview both of them about the film's message.
Thirty years on
December 2008 sees the 30th anniversary of one of the most famous UFO sightings of all time, which took place near the New Zealand town of Kaikoura. It spawned almost unprecedented media comment, generated great public interest in the whole UFO phenomenon and, in Britain, was instrumental in The Aetherius Society beginning what it claimed to be “the largest nationwide campaign ever staged to bring the true facts about Flying Saucers to the British public.” Read on…
UFO fleet “tracked” on radar
Thirty-five mysterious, super-fast flying craft were tracked on RAF radar and witnessed by over 30 military and civilian personnel, the UK national newspaper The Sun reported on September 13th. Six military radars, plus operators at London’s Heathrow airport spotted the vessels in 1971 as they flew east of Salisbury Plain, craft appearing and disappearing as they did so. The operators filed reports, and three days later were visited by officials from the Ministry of Defence who instructed the RAF “never to speak of the incident again.” (more…)

The experience says it all...

New Temple opens in Michigan
After years of planning and hard work a new Aetherius Society Temple finally opened in Michigan on September 14th.
The fact that this project reached such a tremendously successful conclusion is a real tribute to the dedication of Staff and Members there - and to judge from the photographs the new Temple is a really beautiful building.

Aid and relief in Bihar
Monsoon rains at the end of August were so torrential that they altered the course of a major river, bringing catastrophic consequences. Devastating floods hit the Indian state of Bihar, making hundreds of thousands of people homeless, killing many, inundating a major highway under ten feet of water and raising the desperate possibility of cholera and other infectious diseases being spread by the waters. The Indian Prime Minister pronounced it a “national calamity”.
To help in this major disaster, on August 30th and 31st The Aetherius Society sent out 12,000 hours of vibrant, healing, spiritual power through the London Spiritual Energy Radiator, targeted at 'aid and relief from flooding' in Bihar.
Guardian Angels “shocker”
Talking of guardian angels (see the review of the book by Richard Lawrence and Mark Bennett below), a new study done at Baylor University’s Institute for Studies in Religion, says that fifty-five percent of Americans agree with the statement "I was protected from harm by a guardian angel."
Though the study contains much larger figures than this (92% believe in God, 67% are “absolutely sure” that heaven exists and 73% believe in hell), the guardian angels encounter figure, which is one of personal experience, rather than mere belief, was the “big shocker”, according to Christopher Bader, the director of the Baylor study.(more…)
Energy to South Ossetia
The Aetherius Society acted swiftly in the recent conflict between Russia and Georgia, sending out 45,000 hours of energy in just six days.
On August 8th war erupted between Russia and Georgia over the small, independently governed enclave of South Ossetia. The politically complex dispute lying behind this sudden eruption of hostilities had been rumbling on since the early 1990s… (more…)
Alien Worlds Magazine
There’s an excellent article on The Aetherius Society in the latest edition of Alien Worlds magazine by the magazine’s editor Stuart Miller. Based around a lengthy interview with Aetherius Society International Director Richard Lawrence, the article is unusually factual and unbiased, presenting Richard’s interview more or less verbatim. This open-minded approach makes a refreshing change, especially in a magazine that is “interested in the entire concept of extraterrestrial life and the origins of life here on Earth”.
The article, which runs to eight pages, covers the Society’s origins, beliefs and practices, and a number of relevant and interesting issues.

Dr. George King and the science of invisibility

Science has now begun to discover how to make light bend around an object and so render it invisible, according to two separate papers published online today by the journals Science and Nature . It is an announcement which will be greeted with interest, if not surprise, by students of the writings of the late Dr. George King. An extraterrestrial contactee for over 40 years, in the mid-1950s he described how spacecraft had the ability to divert photons of light around themselves to prevent them being seen. It was an assertion regarded as outlandish at the time; now just 50 years later it looks as though terrestrial science is catching up. (more…)

Sudoku Pendulum Challenge
Having been a Sudoku fan for a number of years I have never been faced with a Sudoku puzzle that I have not been able to solve through the use of logic and deduction – and, occasionally, a little bit of guess work. However this week my mother gave me a Sudoku challenge that she said was impossible to do. She and my stepfather had completed a Sudoku puzzle book and then attempted to do the puzzle on the front of the cover with no success. Faced with this challenge I was determined to give it a go.
Having worked out the possible number combinations for each cell I realised that there were so many permutations that I would have to spend several hours of more guess work with trial and error, rather than logic to work out the puzzle. As this didn’t sound like much fun I decided to save some time and get my pendulum out. (more…)
Spiritual energy to Congo crisis
2nd November: As chaos descended on the Congolese border town of Goma, near its border with Rwanda, The Aetherius Society decided to make some emergency discharges of Spiritual Energy to help alleviate the crisis there.
The two Spiritual Energy Radiators in the UK are running for a total of six hours a day, initially on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd November. That means that tens of thousands of Prayer Hours of energy will be going out in a highly concentrated form to help in this potential disaster. it will be interesting to see what develops.
Carnedd Llewelyn—the magical mountain
On March 23rd, 1970 I was on a train going along the north coast of Wales. It was 1 a.m., and the train was overcrowded and stuffy, with people standing. As we neared the North Wales Massif I decided that I would not go down to the carriage end window to admire the view. It would be cold there, and my seat would get taken. I tried again to doze off. The mountains would keep until next time.
Someone or something had other ideas. A force impinged against my forehead. "Go and look at the mountains". I opened my eyes, frowned, and blinked. A woman was standing there, half transparent but very much present. Medium build, full-length light-coloured robe, brown waved hair, deep suntan. Expression gentle and authoritative. "Go and look at the mountains". I realised I would get no peace if I didn't, so I left my cozy seat and went along to the window. The woman disappeared as I got up, and strangely I forgot about her for several months. (more…)
